The primary responsibilities of the Supply Chain Manager are to ensure material supply to support production schedule and inventory accuracy while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
Manages and coordinates with the buyers and warehouse personnel from both facilities.
The Supply Chain Manager will manage key supplier negotiations, leveraging the total purchasing power to drive material costs down.
The Supply Chain Manager will manage the inventory levels to optimize supply/ minimize shortages while keeping stock levels within reasonable limits.

Cost Savings:
Leverage volume buys from both sites Negotiate and schedule via blanket orders to lock in best pricing Work with Engineering to find alternative, more cost-effective products/suppliers Conduct monthly cost out reviews and actions to improve Shortage Reduction:
Establish methodology to determine reorder points to trigger purchasing activities Participate in PDCA activities and take action on shortages as needed Coordinate buying between plants to insure each buyer knows their roles and responsibilities BOM Team - participate in regular Bill of Material reviews and clean-up Supplier Management:
Improve Supplier Quality and Delivery Work with Quality and establish supplier approval criteria/process Work with Engineering and Quality to evaluate and approve new suppliers Own the Supplier CAR process, driving performance improvements with suppliers Inventory Control:
Establish methodology to determine reorder points to trigger purchasing activities Conduct monthly inventory reviews and actions to improve Establish Cycle Count procedures and manage regular execution BOM Team - participate in regular Bill of Material reviews and clean-up Qualifications KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION:
(Minimum Education and/or Experience required) Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; with courses in Business Administration and three years to five years' experience in production scheduling/planning field, purchasing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
APICs certification preferred LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts, purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, accounting reports, catalogs, parts list, reports, schedules, forecasts, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from work group and other departments, managers, vendors, shippers, and others.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, specifications, company policies, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Analytical skills including root cause analysis OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Demonstrated ability to lead others.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and JIT practices.
Computer skills in Word and Excel.
