Irvine office seeks facilities, construction and property practice group associate attorney having 5-7 years of experience handling construction contract claims, public and private, as opposed to construction defect work experience. The candidate must have experience with arbitration and at least exposure to preparing a case for trial/arbitration including actually participating in an arbitration or trial. Should have knowledge and experience of mechanic's lien, law, stop notices, bid protests, public contract law, prompt payment law and payment and performance bonds. Must have knowledge and experience working on construction claims for contract extras, delay damages, impact damages, assessment of liquidated damages and substantive law surrounding these issues. Should have knowledge of alternate project delivery methods. Must have deposition experience both as to percipient witnesses and expert witnesses in the substantive areas of construction claims and law and motion experience involving substantive law and discovery issues. Should have experience putting together discovery plans and executing same. Must have ability to handle and manage, with supervision and oversight, preparing and responding to written discovery and conducting depositions.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
