POSITION
Summary:
Responsible for locating and placing consumers in volunteer work experience positions in the community.
Assists consumers with maximizing functional work behaviors and overcoming barriers to employment through training in appropriate work-related behaviors.
Facilitates consumers' transition from the Work Adjustment Program to the Employment Services Program and into competitive employment in the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
oEngages consumers and assesses consumers' work readiness.
Assists consumers with identifying barriers they may have to obtaining employment in the community.
oCollaborates with the consumer, the consumer's therapist, case manager, and other team members to develop and implement an employment plan that addresses overcoming the consumer's barriers to employment.
oAssists/coaches consumers in the development of job search skills, transportation arrangements, resume preparation, interviewing techniques and job retention.
oTeaches Peer Support Specialist courses and Work Readiness/Pre-employment workshops.
oMaintains listing of job opportunities and establishes relationships with prospective employers.
oWhen appropriate visits work site, observes actual work in progress and prepares analysis of work environment, job requirements and specific job tasks.
oMeets with consumers on a weekly basis or more frequently as needed.
oMaintains ongoing liaison with supervisors obtaining feedback regarding consumer performance; assists in resolving problems quickly and efficiently.
oAccompanies consumers to placement interviews, work sites, etc.

oKeeps program staff informed about consumer performance and support needs and follows up to assure all issues are addressed.
oGenerates monthly reports reflecting consumer activity, specific problems and action taken to address the problems during that month.
oDocuments in progress notes consumer activity, communication, participation, contacts and concerns.
oAttends meetings as assigned, including program employment meetings, service team meetings and staff meetings.
oDevelops and maintains accurate, complete and timely documentation of services provided to consumers; ensures compliance with Pacific Clinics policies and procedures, contract compliance, state licensing and other requirements; enters information in consumer records, gathers data and may prepares reports on for management use and decision- making.
oDevelops and maintains skills in the employment field through seminars, workshops or other forms of training/education.
oInteracts with other internal programs, clinical/support staff and external sources such as school or community personnel as applicable.
oReports to work on time and maintains reliable and regular attendance.
oModels Pacific Clinics' approach, mission and core values in all communication and correspondence.
oCommunicates effectively in a culturally competent and diverse consumer population and promotes favorable interaction with managers, co-workers and others.
oPerforms other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE/POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

A.
degree required or a minimum of 10 years of experience in an employment services related field.
oPrior experience providing employment services to individuals who have lived experience with mental/behavioral health condition.
oCertificate in the Mental Health Worker Course highly preferred.
oDemonstrated skills working effectively with the homeless and dually diagnosed population.
oKnowledge of mental health and employment community resources.
oGeneral computer skills including Microsoft Office Software.
oEffective organization skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
oAbility to work effectively as a team player.
oA working knowledge of the Psychosocial Rehabilitation model.
oBasic knowledge of public policies relative to consumer population and associated programs.
oAbility to demonstrate advocacy skills when appropriate.
oEffective verbal and written communication skills, bi-lingual skills in Spanish/English preferred.
oAbility to be flexible and work in a changing environment.
oMust possess a valid California driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record under the Clinics' liability policy.
oAbility to work effectively with diverse consumer population and amongst a diverse staff.
oAbility to work a flexible schedule as needed to fulfill program needs which may include weekends, evening, and holidays.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand or sit.
The employee is required to use hands to produce records and/or documentation in manual or electronic format.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally move or lift up to 10 pounds.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
